Canada Ontario Alpha Particles - Nuclei News: Season 3, Edition 7.5: OAP Draw Alberta Pirates Prior to Beau Ferrel Stealing the Show in a 4-0 Win

It was just after lunch when fans got work that OAP would face the Alberta Pirates in the quarterfinal action of the National Cup. The draw was met with mixed reviews.

"There are certainly some teams we would have rather faced, however at this stage of the competition we should be pleased with this. They are a strong opponent. It will make for a good game for the wife and I to watch. It would have been nice to bring Wallaceburg to town, we love that rivalry but hey. Why not meet them in the finals eh?" said one fan.

The Pirates are a deep squad with strength in all quadrants of the pitch. Opposition scout Peter Šikman has been assigned to scout the Pirates prior to Friday's matchup.

"I am assigned to find their weakness and report back. It is important we get a win. If we win. I can call Wallaceburg's scouts and tell them that not only does their owner have a bad hair cut, but his mom dresses him funny too!" said Peter Šikman.

It is bound to be an exciting game. On the topic of exciting games, OAP faced FC Josavica at home today in front of just over 18,000 fans. The result, a convincing 4-0 romp of their opponent. However, the story of the day was not the score, but the goal scorer... specifically Beau Ferrel.

Beau had played 96 competitive and tournament games with OAP heading into today's action and had 0 goals and a mere 9 shots on target over those 96 games. However, in today's game. He not only got his first goal, but his second as well. Sending the fans and his teammates into raptures!

"It was a great feeling... seeing that ball ripple in the back of the net. It was something I've imagined as a kid. It's been awhile coming but it makes it all the more special. I certainly couldn't have done it with my teammates. Special prop goes to Zonyga who played in his first league game this season and was a large component in both my goals. This is something I'll have with me for the rest of my life!" said Beau just as he was doused with a tub of Gatorade.

Prior to OAP's NC date with the Pirates they will face the Rabbits on the road, in a battle of Highway 7. OAP won the first game in convincing fashion and will be hoping to get a win on the road again.

"Last game we won 3-0 I believe, and got their best player red carded to add salt to the wound. They'll be gunning for us that's for sure. It should be fun" said Zachariah Pemberton the keeper who is the leading contender for goalkeeper of the year in I.1. The 21 year old has told management that he will be taking a leave of absence in the future to deal with a personal issue. His girlfriend back home in Putnam Ontario is pregnant and due in the coming week or so. OAP fans wish them all the best.
