Another successful season being rich in crowd is over. The 1. FC Meerbusch finished 5th with 90 points having good prospects of being more successful next season. "The league lost two powerful teams with the promotion of the Panthers and the Hellboys. Next season we will be the third powerful team the III.12 loses.", said Walter Eibeck who currently is in an Austrian altitude training camp. Manager Morris Wright is confident that 1. FC Meerbusch will promote next season aswell - if the team is not going to have too many superfuous losses.

The money earned last year is now to be invested into the Pappelstadion, a total of 16M. "We are going to expand Sectors G and F. The capacity will rise from 2400 to 4800. That is more than the half of our current attendance in average, but if numbers will rise as much as last season the current capacity just would not be enough.", said chief of marketing Mattias Brink.

Furthermore the northwestern stands are being equipped with seatings. Seatings in Sector A will mostly be sold as special offers for families.

Wether the expansion will pay off or not remains to be seen. But what is evident: as the construction works will not have finished until the season opener, the stadium is only going to have a capacity of 7600 in the first game.
