It was annouced mere minutes ago, Alpha goalkeeper Zachariah Pemberton and his girlfriend Kitty have welcomed a baby boy into the world. Tank Pemberton was born just after noon on today, April 17th, a healthy 12 pounds and 10 ounces and 60cm in length. It is apparent that he got the size genes from his father, the Alpha's 21 year old 6'7" 205lb starting goalkeeper.

"Even Roddy (Rod "The Bod" MacNeil of Wallaceburg Walking Dead) gave me a call to congratulate me. I know their manager Aowyr forbids it but it was nice of him to sneak a phone call in. I think he blacklists our team because he doesn't want his players knowing what it's like to play for a top-class organization. If they did they'd riot and want out. I mean, kinda like North Korea, China and those other communist countries filter everything to their people. But hey, at least they have a sweet stadium."

"We're absolutely thrilled. I couldn't be happier!" said Pemberton. "It's clear he has my eyes. I mean, it's obvious isn't it?" His girlfriend laughed.

Alpha Particles players were all on hand at Guelph General shortly after the birth which was made possible due to the fact the Alphas have a short trip down highway 6 to Hamilton for today's league game.

"We are going to take a different approach to today's game. Zach will clearly have the day off and as he is a large component of our game plan, we will be adopting a much different tactic this game. SCH won't know what hit them!" said Veikko Salminen the Alpha's assistant coach. "We've wanted to tinker with our lineup for awhile and everything just fell into place. We have one of our weaker teams as an opponent today, we have a goalkeeper given the night off - so may as well have a little fun today. Run-and-gun football is always fun to watch at least!"

Sources say the Alphas are likely to test another formation prior to the season finale in a couple weeks but members close to the team would not confirm or deny. At the very least, this tweak in formation will provide OAP management with more info into player rating calculations and what it takes to build the best player. canucks357 would not comment on the matter. He did not want to take away from Pemberton and his girlfriend's special day.
