קנדה Ontario Alpha Particles - Nuclei News: Season 4, Edition 3: Record Transfer Prompts Fandemonium

The Alphas made history today. This morning they netted a striker whose transfer sum was more than both the Alphas and the Redshift have ever spent before. With the high fee comes great pressure for the young 15 year old Slovakian striker.

Michal Himper can barely speak English but the Alphas were keen on netting him. "He's a really solid player. He can contribute now, but the main thing was in a few seasons' time he will dominate. We have all the faith in him to get the job done" said Aleko Kalinkov the Alphas' Head Coach.

Himper hails from Senec Slovakia, just east of Bratislava. He stated via translator "I have long dreamed to come to a top club. I had always imagined it would take a season or two for me to get noticed. I am sad to leave my family but very excited to start my career and make a name for myself in Canada. I have been watching the Alphas on TV for some time. Martin Gelien certainly helped convince me to come here. I suspect he will be translating much of my words for a while anyways."

Himper is making the jump from division 5 soccer to one of the top teams in North America. Skeptics doubt he is ready for such a leap just yet, but he already had his taste of action with a friendly match today. It will only be a matter of time before he sees regular action.

It is this media's opinion that this player is exactly what the Alphas' need. He is a versatile top-flight offensive striker prospect who can play now but will really make his worth in a few seasons. The price tag was right and now it is just a matter of time. The Alphas have long be riding on the likes of Ethan Purdon for scoring. They have scored the 5th fewest goals in the top division and have only four multi-goal scorers. Nearly half of the goals in league play have come from the aging Purdon.

"I still feel great out there. It's no secret what my game is. I'm here to score goals. I'm not the guy to create the goals, I simply make a living applying the finishing touches. That's what I'm told to do, that's what I pride myself on. We get close to the net, the feed me. Adding another offensive threat will be great for the club. A more balanced attack is never a bad thing. I just hope the kid doesn't steal my spot!" said Purdon.

There are rumours Purdon may be looking for a new club next season. His knack for finding the net should make that no hard task should the Alphas decide to move him, however his one-dimensionality may impact the return the Alphas can expect.

"We're not shopping Ethan around. He's a big part of our club. Besides... who would score our goals!?!?!" said canucks357. Rumour has it that Wallaceburg would be the front-runners for such a player. The club consistently performs well in the cup stage and can use a bonafide offensive player with heaps of experience. Aowyr was unavailable for comment in regards to the matter.

In the meantime, fans can enjoy some exciting soccer. The Alphas have won 3 straight league games. The next few weeks should decide their fate... not to mention a massive game Wednesday against Bow Valley in the Cup Winners Cup right here, at Curium-244 place.
