It is Good Friday here in Guelph Ontario but you couldn't tell from the crowd surrounding Cm-244 place. Over 25,000 people are already surrounding the stadium and officials are setting up external viewing areas where Alpha fans can watch the final between their club and the visiting Kenora Stingers.

The final match will bring to an end a long and glorious run by the Alphas to this the final match which they shall play host. This season for OAP has had it's ups and downs. The Alphas are currently sitting in 7th place in I.1, which is the lowest they can place while 6th is the highest they can climb.

"It is important for us and for our fans to have this game. They have been fiercely loyal through and through. We could not ask for better fans" said head coach Aleko Kalinkov. "We will be without some key components to our success. Both Ethan Purdon and Dwight Gartlan will be serving suspensions. They each received their 2nd yellow card in their 7th cup match. Seems steep to me but rules are rules."

Reports indicate that Martin Gelien will fill Gartlan's role while new arrival Francois Thomas will get the striking duties on the right flank.

"It's a huge game for me. I had a taste of some action in yesterday's 0-0 draw with Bordeaux. I cannot wait to play in front of a home crowd in such a big match. I cannot replace a player like Ethan, but I can only hope to be a positive influence on the match like he was every game" said Francois.

From here on out we can only wait to see how this game pans out. Whatever happens, one team will be heading home with a trophy and Alpha fans will be on hand to see it.
