Ontario Alpha Particles battled hard in Mexico today but came up one goal short and thus are eliminated from the Champions' League tournament in the semi-finals. OAP were expected to beat the Mexican club and face the winner of the all-Canadian matchup of the other final however ultimately couldn't get the goal support they needed.

"It certainly is frustrating. But that's soccer right? One goal makes all the difference. Now we need to focus on our final two league games to ensure a birth in the tournament next year. It's hard to turn around so quickly after all the travel but tomorrow's league matchup is huge too" said Ethan Purdon one of the veterans on the club and the leading scorer.

There will be talk about this series for some years to come and that penalty shot in the second game. You can look at it one of two ways, a dreadful miss or a glorious save. Borden was a surprising choice to many seeing as he's a defender. Both coach and players were instructed specifically not to discuss the missed penalty attempt.

The future of the OAP franchise is quite bright however. Facilities are rolling forward and fan support is high. Those who can't get tickets to games frequent the local establishments to support their club. With two games remaining in the season, OAP show promise for next season and many more to come.
