NK Spirala† - Rumors confirmed. Little Cene available for transfer!
Recently there were some rumors around 16-year old CM prospect Cene Ilenič of NK Spirala being available for transfer.
Today the rumors were confirmed by the main man of NK Spirala's H&R facility, Kevin Ebert. And the price? No less than breath-taking 300 million! But is there a club, that is willing to meet the enormous amount?
The news also made fans of the club very angry and they demand Ebert, who joined the club just recently, to resign.
Ebert told us:
"Cene is great prospect. He's so talented, he could play successfully just about any position on the pitch, but as CM he's just about perfect. He's very mature for his age and his attitude towards as well as progress during training are amazing. He's a versatile CM, who would also do well as AM and DM, and can shoot very well with both legs. We believe there is long and prosperous career in front him. Among Slovenian 16-year old CM's his qualities are 2nd best, but are just about as good as the best one has. His skills are close to best Slovenian CM's of that age too, so we believe there's a fair chance he'll play for the national team someday.
Is he worth the price? Let me put it this way: There sure are clubs out there who can afford him, and they're the ones to decide.
I understand the concerns of our precious fans, but let me tell you that we're not rushing to sell him. We haven't sent him on market and also don't intend to, so he's not that close to leaving our club, as it might seem. But if someone offers the right amount, we just can't afford to reject it. The truth is, although it gets better every season, our infrastructure as well as financial abilities, cannot be compared to the world’s top clubs yet. And money from the transfer would mean major boost in development of our facilities and stadium, that would assure better conditions for our future prospects to develop, and that none of our fans would be left outside the stadium during our home matches anymore.
I probably dislike selling young prospects just as much as our fans do and it's not solely my decision to offer little Cene to other clubs. It’s been voted in the board of the club, because in the long term the transfer would have very beneficial effects.
But if he stays, there would be benefits for our club too and it would make me probably just as happy as it would our fans."
