Kanada Ontario Alpha Particles - Nuclei News: Season 5, Edition 7: Alphas Add Third Piece of the Bickley SC Puzzle

The Ontario Alpha Particles added a third player from Bickely SC last night, landing Leonard Macon for an undisclosed sum. Macon will join Thom Knight and Vincent Sharrard on one of Canada's elite clubs. The transfer is expected to be the Alpha's final dip into the market in the foreseeable future, however one can never be too sure with canucks357's wheeling-and-dealing history.

"We are thrilled to have Macon on our club. He is another gifted young offensive player. We have a strong core of players and adding to that never hurts. He came at a price that was within our budget and will not set us back from our construction goals for the next few months" said canucks357.
"It is exciting to come to Guelph. The team has a storied history and has been making a lot of changes over the past few months. Their plan to go younger for the betterment of the long-term is really exciting and I can't wait to be a part of that. It also makes things easier having two familiar faces which made the news of my transfer much easier to bare" said Macon.

Macon arrived moments after the final sale at Curium-244 place as if he knew that's where he'd end up.

"I knew I'd end up here. They pursued me and I knew they wanted me here. It's a good feeling. I spent the day visiting with the other two former Bickley players and we were all thrilled when it was official." Macon went on to score a goal in his debut, a 4-0 victory over Atikokan Irons.

With Macon's arrival, Polish centre defender Bogut was given his transfer papers after his transfer was negotiated to a European club for an undisclosed sum. It is anticipated that Bogut is being sold for strictly monetary reasons as management had high hopes for the budding 18 year old phenom.
The front office has been busy the past few weeks but things are about to calm down. Companies are starting to get their bids in for next year's sponsor offers and the top players are still enjoying a hard two-week training regime.

***** The floor was then opened for questions from fans at the press conference *****

"Mr. Macon, what was it like hearing that you would be relocating north of the border?"
"It was exciting! Very happy to have moved here rather than making a trans-Atlantic flight to Europe somewhere. There are so many teams over there it's quite saturated and hard to stand out. Here I'll be given great training and playing opportunities with and against some of the best teams in the world."

"Leonard, any idea who you will be living with while you are here?"
"Fine sir, I make over $1,300/day. Not to sound full of ones self but I can afford to live on my own for the generous salary they pay me. In fact, I'll be donating most of my earnings to local charities such as 'Biznow's Noes Reduction Fund' and 'Aowyr's Fund for PES Supremacy'."

"What are your thoughts on playing for canucks357?"
"Well, he's an absolute... (looks over at canucks357 and changes the look on his face) ...gem of a guy. Couldn't have asked for better!"

"How will you expect to play given the depth of young talent the Alphas have up front?"
"I'll let my play dictate that. If I play well, they'll have no choice to keep playing. I hope that my existing chemistry with Sharrard will help my odds a bit too."

"Are you a Leaf fan?"
"Am I a Leaf fan!?!?! I am not sadistic nor do I enjoy being in a constant state of disappointment and disgrace."

Laughed came from the crowd.

"Who is your favourite soccer team?"
"Right now? FC Basel. Tomorrow... whoever beats Manchester United!"

From the looks of it, Macon will get along well here in Guelph.
