Kanada Ontario Alpha Particles - Nuclei News: Season 5, Edition 4: OAP Welcomes another American after Unbeaten Run Ends at Nine Games

Ontario Alpha Particles management were quite busy negotiating the transfer of another Bickley SC prospect. Management acquired Vincent Sharrard for an undisclosed sum. He will join Thom Knight on OAP as former BSC players.

"Vince is a massive acquisition for our club. Not only is he a of first-class potential, but he comes in a mold to be shaped as seen fit" said canucks357 in regards to the new player. "He has been playing right-back but we see him much more useful as a striker. The duo of Hodge and Himper have been carrying the brunt of the workload. Obviously Sharrard won't be game-ready for some time. However, he is a key component in the long-term success of our franchise and we are thrilled to have him with us."

Rumours now fly as to the role that Jacob Hodge will play given the new acquisition. "Hodge is still a critical member of our team - irreplaceable. There's nothing more to it" said canucks357.

One thing is for sure, Thom Knight will be thrilled with this signing. Knight is currently the top prospect on the Alphas strictly looking at potential. However, with the arrival of Sharrard, that makes the top two prospects on the Alphas Bickley SC academy products.

"Clearly it's awesome to have another BSC academy grad here. He's all the rage down there and it is really spectacular that they've landed him here. I'm thrilled. Now I will have more leverage to claim that everyone else has accents here and it's not me!" joked Knight.

In other news, the Alphas lost their first game in 9 matches. The previous nine mates saw OAP win 4 and draw 5 through a tough part of their schedule. With a lighter part of their schedule on the way alarm bells are ringing as the slump ended to the 2nd-last placed Sasquatch.

"We have no concerns. They're a strong club. Anyone in I.1 can beat anyone on any given night. That's what makes this league so amazing" said Tyson Borden.

Critics and fans alike fear that the loss could be the first of a slump, slumps that OAP are notorious for finding at the worst possible times.

"I'm worried he's pushed the guys too hard this year. Ran too short of a bench to make up for injuries and suspensions. I hope I'm wrong, the guys just look tired" said season ticket holder Tean Shooey.

"I'm not concerned. OAP win - like a boss!" said another fan Mallen AcGuire.

Time will tell what fate OAP have in store. However with each season being tighter than the last, one can bet that it will come down to the final games.
