Австралия Trueblue United† - United Farewell The Latvian Connection

Brisbane - The Rozy Shuffle & Tenis Elbow phrases that will forever be folklore amongst TB. United fans. Named after central midfielder Markus Rozitis and Tenis Pujacs respectively, these offensive moves have left defenders and goalies dumbfounded since late in Season 2.

Nicknamed the Latvian Connection due to their phenomenal chemistry with the ball and regular joint effort to score goals, Rozitis and Pujacs between them were the driving force in United's early seasons.

Today United Management made a major move, sending both players to other clubs.

Markus Rozitis joined the club in season 1 as a fresh faced 18yr old with loads of potential. He quickly became a regular in the central midfield and showed incredible talent, helping the Stars win the championship. In season 2 Rozitis came into fruition, scoring 12 goals and assisting on many others. His quick feet, fast step-overs and blazing quick shot soon became known as the Rozy Shuffle amongst paying fans.

During his career with the club, he played a total of 286 League Games, scoring 92 goals and 75 assists (assists only recorded since season 5 onwards). He has also made appearances for the club in the National Cup, League Cup, Champions League and Cup Winners Cup. He also has 55 appearances in the Team of the Day. While the financial details have not been disclosed, it is believed the transfer fee is something in the range of $15M.

Tenis Pujacs joined the club at the end of season 2 at just 15yrs of age. His transfer at the time, worth $10.5M was a team high purchase and the pressure was on for Pujacs to show his worth.

He quickly did, though not without somewhat of a reputation. Early in season 3 while jumping for a header he allegedly caught the opposition keeper in the face with his elbow, breaking both the keepers jaw and nose in the process. His "elbow out" style of football earned him a reputation as "a player you don't want to get too close in to" (teammate, Kane Billington) and garnished the nickname "Tenis Elbow".

On the pitch Pujacs was near unstoppable. Scoring 38 goals in season 3 (2nd on the team), he, along with his offensive chemistry with Markus Rozitis helped the club earn it's 2nd Championship title. He went onto become a prolific striker, leading the team in goals in seasons 5 and 6 and setting a League Best 72 goal record in season 6.

His career with the club includes 237 goals in 190 league games, 44 goals in 26 National Cup games, 7 goals in 7 League Cup games, 9 goals in 27 Champions League appearances and 1 goal in 5 Cup Winners Cup matches. He also leaves the club with an incredible 70 Man of the Match awards and was selected to the Team of the Day 34 times.

Pujacs announced via his twitter that the club will receive just over $47M for the transfer.

Playes, Management and fans of TB United will sincerely miss both these players and wish them well with their new clubs.
