From a Highland Terriers view, who have really been Midland terriers in their first season in I.1, each week there is increased confidence they will survive the drop zone.

To look at this season from the middle of the league is interesting - there has been many competitive games (using up valuable energy) for us in positions 9-16. After some recent buys, FC Kangaroo has made a move to nail down 9th spot with The Sky Blues, Port Adelaide, Highland Terriers & GP Bluebirds swapping positions most weeks. NEW UMEA is hanging in there.

Despite being manager-less Clan McLeod and Wandering Wookies have been a challenge for this group. They look like they will survive as manager-less teams next season in I.1, so 6 new teams coming up next season probably.

I do think it quite incredible that Port Adelaide has had 10 draws so far this season - if only!

With 8 rounds to go, there still 24 point up for grabs - for the team with the most energy probably. But watch out next season Top 8 - there is a new generation coming, and a few upsets guaranteed.

I've been watching II.3 with interest... with a lot of luck GMP 2 might make it back next season - should be in a play-off with 16th position which is currently Windsor Rockets & NEW UMEA equal on 32 points. I suppose he'll be hoping for Windsor Rockets (the manager-less team). I was looking forwars to GMP 1 v GMP 2 in the play-off but that now looks unlikely.

I'll leave a Top 8 to review the Top 8... league I.1 is like the Australian Economy.. a two-speed economy.. (1-8 and 9-16)!

See you at the end of the season... Players in need of a good rest for next season - league cup will certainly finish them off!
