Ssangyong United is building for the future with the expectations to refit the entire stadium to a minimum capacity of 4000 per stand. Having already completed two stands of triple-tier stands, the club has financed loans to help finance the construction of three new triple-tier stands, with a combined expected capacity of 13000. Of course, all of this construction comes at a cost - with reduced attendances expected to be the norm for the majority of the season.

"Well, when you demolish the old stands, you can't really expect people to sit in those seats," SUFC Director of Facilities said. "But we have to look at this from another perspective. The lost revenues from this construction will be recouped in the extended capacity, not to mention all of the greater amount and qualities of amenities that the stands will offer our fans and visitors. That said, the sponsors were especially pleased with our second-placed finish last season, so we're well placed to make the fiscal cuts to pay for the operation. If we build a better stadium, more fans will come and we'll be better placed to host better quality players as well."

The latest reconstruction will continue through the end of the season, while the other stands are expected to fill their capacity in just over a month. At the end of the current construction boom, we can expect to see Ssangyong Stadium seat over 27000 loud and crazy fans.
