JSF Lightning† - FC Yoshi: Season 2, Volume: 1
Date: 09/28/10
Location: Stadium noname 30236
Time: 22:30
Result: 0-2
With the new season finally underway, FC Yoshi players were just excited to get onto the field. When they arrived, they brought their skills and talents with a dominant 2-0 win over Team noname 30236.
Although it was a relatively easy match, there were a few scares for FC Yoshi. However, they managed to prevail on goals by Ronan Dellow (23') and Star Midfielder Annio Nocerino (85'). FC Yoshi started with a lot of pressure up front and were finally rewarded in the 23rd minute when Nocerino played a beautiful ball for Dellow who beat his man down low before striking a nice shot well out of the reach of the keeper. After that early strike, FC Yoshi continued to pound away at the goal but were unable to beat the keeper or get many shots on goal. Being the first match, there were a lot of jitters in their feet and hopefully it will improve as the season wears on. However, in the 85th minute, Nocerino headed in a nice goal after Moss had deflected an Engwall corner kick to him. That goal alone shows that he is recovering from the lengthy injury that plagued him for nearly a month and cost him 2 training camps.
In the end, the statistical analysis was nasty. 2 goals on 4 shots with 10 shots wide. FC Yoshi also had 8 corner kicks and 9 free kicks but weren't able to capitalize on all the missed opportunities. Fortunately, the first game was mainly a test but they must sharpen their game if they want to challenge for the title this season. FC Yoshi will also be carrying two players with yellow cards into their next game as both Danny Talbot and Alexandre Jean were carded for bad challenges.
