Marion BlueRacers† - New season...Dimmer future
The fledgling Marion Blueracers, coming off an unprecedented 1st season with the top spot in in the III.4 league and finishing 4th in the league cup are not feeling at all confident about this promotion to league II.1
We caught up with team GM Himanoco who had this to say:
"I really don't know what the league was thinking. We are far and away the weakest team in this league and while we've gotten a fair amount of funds from sponsers, prizes and the like we don't have the money to build a team to be competitive at this level.
"We will continue to play our game and I will be looking for opportunities to bring in some talent that we can afford to keep around but in the short run I have a feeling that this will be a long and slow season for out Blueracers. This will be the season that we'll see who our true fans are and who just showed up when we were winning.
"And we've got some stuff to keep them coming to the pitch so I hope to see people in the stands. We'll do the best we can and I promise to keep the matches as close as we can throughout the season."
We'll stay tuned to the happenings in Marion and we wish our Blueracers luck.
