Tomorrow marks the 27th edition of the Ssangyong-Maniacs derby. While many other clubs have come and gone, Ssangyong United have faced off against Maniacal Minions in nearly every season since Season 6, burgeoning into one of the highlights of the season for any SUFC fan. Since the first match back in Season 6 (S6MD15), there were signs of a real chessmasters approach to these matches, with tactical nuances and the odd formation to fit both managers' desires to win at all costs.

"I'd be lying if we didn't approach this match with a little extra spice," said the current manager of SUFC. "Fans really appreciate the effort the boys on the pitch provide, and we know that the atmosphere will be deafening. We hope that the preparations we're putting into the match will give our fans even more to cheer. There's a lot of history, and there's really no other rivalry that even comes close to this one. It's really special in many ways."

Having met 26 times previously, with a 10-4-12 record (2-3 record in the cup, including two losses in the LC Final), Maniacal Minions holds a slight advantage in the historical match-up. This follows a recent trend, where Maniacal Minions have typically dominated the proceedings. The last match was a 5-nil drubbing at Minion Stadium; clearly, SUFC will be hoping for a much improved outcome this time around at Ssangyong Stadium.
