USA F.C. Legionaries† - The Legion Volume 1 #1

The Legion is dedicated to all things F.C. Legionaries. From transfer rumors to new hirings, find your answers here.
With the new strikers in the first team, Ed Bernsteins first team football has been limited but he made the most of his opportunities today in a League match against California Kings C.F. Coming on in the seventieth minute of a 1-1 game for English newcomer Bob Froggatt who had the Legionaries goal, Bernstein made himself known early, with three attempts at goal before Grigoriy Chekmarev found him unmarked at the top of the eighteen in the eighty-fourth minute. Bernstein delivered a stellar postage stamp blast that left Kings C.F. keeper Gus Putnam shaking his head in disbelief. Bernstein's tally was his fifth of the season, good enough for eighth in the league. Never the less, the wonder strike was not enough to earn him Man of the Match. That went to Bob Froggatt. Bernstein played down rumors of dissension in the locker room over Froggatt's entry and reward for leaving in a tied match.
"Bob played a great game. We have no problems. He earned that award. I have no complaints. I got a break. Their D was tight all night. Grigoriy saw me open and hit me with the pass. All I had to do was make sure I did not miss the pass." Bernstein said. Normally quiet Captain Jakub Pus gave Bernstein's strike a glowing post match endorsement.
"He gets better every game. You guys better start saving the film now. You'll want it when he gets a little older and more mature. That strike tonight was just a glimpse of what he can do." Pus said. Manager Edmundo Gandra refused to comment on the rumors that Bernstein and fellow striker Kyle Edmonds will soon be on the transfer market.
