Canada Ontario Alpha Particles - Nuclei News: Season 3, Edition 4: Special Feature - Ľubomír "Sticky Fingers" Palaj

Today in Nuclei News we go one-on-one with the newest face to join the OAP family, Ľubomír Palaj. He was acquired only a few short days ago from his Slovakian club Fk Haršag and already he has become quite the guy in the change room. His teammates are calling him "hilarious" and "flat out crazy! ... in all the entertaining ways." So we thought we'd take the time to get to know the newest Particle in the family.

So, Ľubomír, welcome to Canada. How are you enjoying the start of a new career?

"Please... call me Lubomir. Or Steve. Canada is nice so far. The chicks are a little more developed here than back home for my age which is a plus. But all the damn hockey jocks seem to get them. I think I may try out for The Moderately Neato hockey team, I hear it's not hard to make that squad. All in the name of some tail of course."

Well at least you're honest eh? So on the topic of the transfer, what was it like knowing you would be moved, then getting the word you'd be moving to a top-50 club in the world?

"Well it was very exciting. I can train better here. It's a great career move. I know I likely won't play much, or at all, for many seasons but I'm happy just to learn and get better. Plus our team cheerleaders are rockets... you want to talk about speeding up time? They make me go from 6 to midnight in a snap! You don't have that kinda [censored] back with Fk Haršag. We were lucky to get... nevermind."

So, can we answer a question and not get a response talking about our fine Canadian women? Please?

"Fine... if you insist."

Okay. So as a goalkeeper, what is your biggest memory of football and is that how you got the nickname "Sticky Fingers"?

"Well, based on the previous rule I cannot answer that question fully."

Very well. Then just answer it... enlighten us if you must.

"Well, I started playing footy when I was 5. And being the only kid who wanted to play net, that's where they put me... and I became good at it. Slowly moved up the minor ranks before signing my first pro contract at 15. As far as the nickname goes... it was actually "Stinky Fingers" due to my lust for women. However, management deemed that unprofessional of an athlete and disrespectful. In the best interest of the club and given my position "Sticky Fingers" was a natural alternative."

Quite interesting. So, you're not a thief then as your nickname suggests?

"Hardly."

(There was a slight awkwardness prior to:) Well we appreciate your candidness. I must say, we get a lot of the same comments over and over again. A little flair and character is a good thing!

"I think I show that on the field to ya know. Play with emotion and some flash. Just go out there and work hard then go home and play hard. You know I hear there is this sweet game out online, it's called PowerPlay Manager Manager. Everyone should check it out!"

And with that we conclude our interview of the newest Particle. And I'm watching Lubomir walk away realizing that my wallet is $20 lighter. Son of .....................
