F.C. Legionaries† - F.C. Legionaries The Legion Volume 1 #1
The Legionaries have won the league. With two games to play, the Legionaries have an unassailable eighteen point advantage in the league. While Nightmare, Eagles, and my ultimate team continue battling for second and a chance for promotion, the Legionaries prepare for life in the second tier. Manager Zoran Reljic indicated that he has no intention of changing his strategy of pursuing young talent. "Obviously the facilities are great but its the players on the pitch that win matchs. It is youth that produces the energy needed to win and a combination that and talent that wins titles. It worked well for us this season so I will stick with it. I want to thank all the fans and sponsors for all their support this year and we will see you in the second tier." Captain Jakub Pus added: "It is exciting for all of us. To win a title obviously means a lot and winning promotion is a huge confidence booster for us. I guess it means we did what we were supposed to do."
Manager Reljic refused to comment on the possibility that league leading goal scorer Ed Bernstein could be available for transfer, but Bernstein indicated he wanted to stay at the club. "I came up through the system in this club and it obviously means a lot to me. I hope I can stay but ultimately it comes down to the manager." Zlatko Hunyor, the fifteen year old Slovakian striker who replaced Bernstein after his season ending broken leg, and his rumored replacement added his support to the American. "I like Ed. Want to play with him. Arif (Taemasib) and I, we work good, but Ed, he young, have energy. Like that. Arif give experince, Ed give energy. Together, we score many goals." Hunyor, whose seven goals in just four games give him the best goals per game average in the league, has committed his future to the club along with numerous other young stars who make for a bright future at F.C. Legionaries as they ascend to the second tier next season.
