Leyton Orient FC† - The O's been taken over
December 3rd, Leyton - A week ago some things changed at the Mathroom Stadium at Brisbane Road. The board of FC Leyton Orient have taken up a new manager to steer the east London team towards a better situation. The new manager, Alexander Lowenhart, also steers the Romford Tornadoes [ice hockey] towards an all British team, will he do the same with the O's?
"I believe that there are enough talented players born in the United Kingdom and England to support a team which could compete at the highest levels. That is why I believe that over time, the Romford Tornadoes Ice Hockey Club and that FC Leyton Orient can become succesful with only home-grown players and support the national teams", manager Alexander explained. He was quick enough to add later "But of course it will take a very long time. We also need to improve the facilities and staff, so do not count on the O's become champions overnights."
Of course the fans are delighted with the news and one of the first things manager Alexander has issued is the expansion of the stands and the improvements of the facilities. We will keep a close eye on the O's to see if Alexander really will keep the team import-free.
