De Filipijnen Spratly Islands FC† - Raiders Happy to Stay In Asia

Coach David Cox held a press conference today commenting on the sad fate of the majority of nations that had left Asia.

Were not here today to talk of the success of our club, but to express our sincere relief we are members of the Asian league and not an independent country. On the surface it might sound very appealing to have our own Filipino league. That said, the economic system within PM has played havoc with those countries that have left Asia.

Kazakhstan and Indonesia are treading water, Azerbaijan and Malaysia are in deep decline. Japan and Chinese Taipei are almost dead. Most of these are now in leagues with only 2 tiers. Their income has been badly downsized. To get an idea of this check the prize money from our league to theirs. From this you get a good sense whats happening with their sponsorships.

So from the Raiders point of view we are happy to remain in the 3 tier Asian league. Were happy to play against such great competition game after game. Theres such a lot of great club teams here AND we sincerely hope we never leave.

Finally, this just the opinion of Coach David Cox and the Raider Football franchise. We honestly encourage other clubs to look at the above countries and other weaker nations in PM (like Australia) and make their own judgements.
