Going into Sunday's game, Philadelphia FC was looking for revenge after their 6-0 loss to Addyyys Boys during the regular season. Addyyys Boys, who were the league's most dominant team late in the season, were looking to complete their run with yet another win.

Early on, it was apparent that this was not going to be a cakewalk for either team. Philadelphia has not started Jan Gorskov and Kornel Scorocina due to fatigue. In the ninth minute, Pontus Englund of Philadelphia broke the 0:0 tie with a goal off of a cross from Jan Tirelis, making it 1:0 game. Throughout the first half, defense was dominant, as there were just 3 combined shots on goal between both teams. Ratymyr Mozgovoy made 2 saves in the half, and the 1:0 lead stood.

It the second half, Philadelphia got off to a good start. Alexandru Emanoil scored to increase the lead to 2 in the 48th minute. Later in the second half, both teams had some opportunities but failed to capitalize, and 2:0 was the final score. Ratymyr Mozgovoy, who made 5 saves in the win, was named the Man of the Match.

Philadelphia has now won the League Cup and will now move on to the SuperLeague Cup, which features all League Cup winners from around the world.
